About Us
Concord Women's Chorus, based in Concord, Massachusetts, is comprised of approximately 60 singers from Concord and the greater Boston area. Directed by Jane Ring Frank, the chorus performs a wide variety of choral music, ranging from early music to contemporary repertoire.
The chorus began in 1960 as a small group of women who enjoyed singing madrigals gathered in each other's homes to sing together. They became the Concord Madrigals, hired a music director, and began giving concerts. Over the years the group increased in size, level of quality, and the variety of music performed. In 2005 the Concord Madrigals became the Concord Women's Chorus, in order to more accurately reflect the wide range of music that is performed. The chorus typically presents two concerts each year; a holiday concert in December, and a spring concert in early May. In addition, we also occasionally perform at other venues, such as an annual benefit concert for the Wayside Hospice, held in Weston, MA. We have also performed with the Concord Orchestra in their 2008 and 2009 fall concerts.
Concord Women's Chorus is a member of the Greater Boston Choral Consortium.
